Washington born Kurt Cobain was an American singer songwriter and musician. Influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC and Queen, Cobain formed the band Nirvana with Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard in 1987, which found breakthrough success with ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

Nirvana went on to become regarded as one of the most influential and important alternative bands in history. In 1994 Cobain committed suicide after years of struggle with heroin addiction and depression. After Cobains death, Nirvanas active career ended however since their debut they have sold 75 million records worldwide making them one of the best-selling bands of all time.
