ICONIC BAND LOGOS
A band doesn't need an iconic logo in order to be remembered, but it doesn't hurt!
Here at Amplified we wear our favourite band logos as badges of honour, so we decided to put together our top list of iconic band logos!

8. THE RAMONES
Arturo Vega designed The Ramones logo, he lived with multiple members of the band and after a trip to Washington he felt that the Presidential seal was perfect symbol for an "All-American Band." Each part of the logo has a significant meaning to the band, for example the text seal are the names of the band members and it changed as the members did.
7. NIRVANA
The Nirvana logo consists of the smiley face and the band name. There are many theories as to what the logo means and who designed it but nothing has been confirmed. The logo itself didn't appear on album covers but was featured on the front of a 1992 t-shirt which was when fans immediately resonated with the logo.
6. RUN DMC
Run DMC have been a group which always stands out, which can also be said for their logo, with its bold typography and three-part colour scheme it is timeless. Their logo is still one of the most memorable to ever grace the music industry and continues to be today.
5. KISS
Lead guitarist of Kiss, Ace Frehley, came up with design of the logo and he made it unforgettable by designing the final two letters in Kiss as stylized lightning bolts. This logo first appeared band's album 'Hotter Than Hell.' and the logo instantly became a hit with the fans.
4. ACDC
ACDC's logo was first shown on the international edition of 'Let There Be Rock.' It was designed by Atlantic Records VP and Bob Defrin, the typeface was based on the writing he'd first seen the Gutenberg Bible.
3. GUNS N ROSES
Guns n Roses logo is very literal but is still a clear winner! The imagery, typeface and perfect symmetry of the guns, roses and vines make the logo iconic. It was designed by Slash himself and it became an immediate part of the bands identity.
2. PINK FLOYD
Pink Floyd have had many logos but none that resonate as deep as this one. The logo was designed by Storm Thorgerson and George Hardie and it shows an illustration of light passing through a prism. The logo has since become as recognisable as the band's name itself.
1. THE ROLLING STONES
Our number one iconic band logo is, without question, The Rolling Stones' world-famous tongue logo.
Designed by art student John Pasche, it was inspired by Mick Jagger's mouth and also the mouth of Hindu goddess Kali. It was first used on their 1971 'Sticky Fingers' album and was recently purchased by the Victoria & Albert Museum for £50,000! This logo is iconic around the world not only as the bands logo but as a representation for freedom and young spirit.
