Danny Dyer @ Amplified Towers

Friday, January 28th, 2011

Loveable cockney rogue, Danny Dyer popped into our Amplified showroom this week to say hello and cast his eyes around our latest collection.

While we were giving him the grand tour, he spotted the samples for our amazing upcoming leather jacket range and couldn’t resist giving them a go (well what can we say? The guys got good taste!)

Anyway, we thought we’d take the opportunity to give you guys a sneaky peek of our jackets due to be released later this year being modelled by the Brit legend himself.
We’ll have both real leather and PU versions available  – all with the signature Amplified designs twists of course.

Well It seems that the stars of the X Factor simply can’t get enough of our fantastic tees!
Yes it’s true! X Factor finalists have once again been seen proudly showing off some of our great designs both on and off the stage.
The latest instalment themed on American anthems witnessed heartthrob and very cool cat Liam from ‘One Direction’ showing us how it should be done when he rocked up in one of our American Top Hat T-Shirts from our Sinful range.
This tee perfectly sets off a casual rock star image. Looking very cool Liam if we do say so ourselves!

Next to be seen showing off our gear, Katie Waissel helped to open the event with fellow X Factor stars while rocking our classic Rolling Stones ‘Terrifying’ vest.
This iconic design is such a fantastic way to really set off a rock chick look, a great addition to any music lover’s wardrobe. A true favourite here at Amplified. (more…)

Stone Roses ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ covered by The Raveonnettes

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Not many artists have had the guts to cover anything by the Stone Roses but the Raveonettes have just done exactly that and the results are not bad. The iconic punk footwear brand Dr Martens have turned 50 and to celebrate they have commissioned 10 song covers, by 10 different artists each accompanied by it’s own video. The brand wanted artists to record a cult classic track which represents the spirit of the people who’ve worn DM’s over the past 50 years. You can view The Raveonettes video along with the nine other music videos here.

Klaxons ‘Surfing the Void’ is more nu metal than nu rave

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Klaxons second album which was released on Monday is influenced by another alternative sub culture and is not just more of the nu rave sounds that earned them critical acclaim with their first album in 2007. Surfing the Void has been produced by Ross Robinson who in the past has worked with metal bands such as Korn and Slipnot. Tracks such as the recent single ‘Echoes’ are reminiscent of the style on Myths of the Near Future and the record in it’s entirety doesn’t abandon the sound that has made them so popular. However, Ross’s influence on the album is said to have pushed the band closer to nu metal as guitar riffs and a distorted rock sound feature heavily. Fans will be pleased that the band have continued to experiment whilst still having made another dance record.
