Oh yes! The Rolling Stones have just reissued a re-mastered, expanded, Super-Deluxe, Deluxe and Digital editions of their truly groundbreaking album ‘Some Girls’ which introduced them to a whole new generation of younger fans back in 1978.

This album which was the first with Ronnie Wood is considered their last great album. True of not, this album left it’s mark the their career and saw a big turning point for the band in the late ‘70s when the punk rock movement had critics doubting their relevance.

Not only has this classic album has a bit of a shake up and polish, it also features some amazing unheard recordings which have been unearthed from the depths of their archives by producer Don Was, as well as amazing new photos taken by Helmut Newton.

Thirty-three years on from its original release, this album can make a stir and has got so many die-hard fans handing over up to £80 for this amazing piece of rock memorabilia with all the trimmings including The Super-Deluxe version which includes a 7-inch single of “Beast of Burden” featuring its original banned sleeve art.

This amazing release is sure to be welcome with open arms to many Stones fans, the thought of unheard tracks and remastered classics has got many frantically searching online to get their hands on a copy.

One things for sure, this just made our Christmas wish list to santa a whole lot easier!

Just to make you feel that little bit older…or young in the case for some of you, it’s been a nearly unbelievable 20 years since this classic album truly lead the way in defining a genre and helped us all to annoy parents, neighbours and well…whoever we could with this turned up high long into the night!

This masterpiece of grunge rock released way back on the 24th of September 1991 proudly brought alternative rock in to the mainstream, blessing us with the classic tracks we all know and love including ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, ‘Come as You Are’, ‘Lithium’ and ‘In Bloom’ to name a few. You know the ones!

Selling more than 30 million copies, this true great has to be undoubtedly one of the most influential albums of the 90′s with one of the most iconic cover artwork to boot.

Well to celebrate, Universal Music is getting geared up and ready to blow out some candles by re-releasing special and super special editions of this icon which will feature rare and unreleased tracks from the guys, as well as live performances, videos and some unseen pictures.

As well as all this exciting new material for us to feast on, the band’s bassist and co-founder Krist Novoslic will mark the occasion by performing at a concert in Seattle on September 20th. No Dave Ghohl though sadly as he’ll be off touring with a little band he’s in called Foo Fighters, some of you may have heard of them, ‘Nevermind’ eh!

Taking the form of a new and much anticipated album titled ‘Lulu’, this exciting project was inspired by German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind’s plays ‘Earth Spirit’ and ‘Pandora’s Box’ which are widely known as ‘Lulu’s plays’ and now they’re  getting the ‘Loutallica’ treatment!

Originally the idea was to use the stories as the basis for a theatrical production Lou had planned in Berlin, but after performing with Metallica at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame benefit concerts back in 2009, they decided to use the lyrics and music as the basis for this all new project instead….as you do!

Not the most conventional way of creating an album we must admit, but we still recon the big boys know what they’re doing and have high hopes for this even more theatrical side of their music which is set to be released on the 31st of October.

The amazing four piece made it through to the finals of ‘Live and Unsigned‘ at London’s Indigo O2 stage last month, leaving a simply huge number of hopefuls in their wake.

Hitting the stage the four teen rockers took the spotlight and gave a brilliant performance impressing the judges and crowd. Sadly this time the guys missed out on the amazing title but are looking strong for next year and have got their sights set high with an ever-growing following and fan base to their name.

Despite not bagging the title, the guys didn’t walk away empty-handed snatching up the Blackstar Exposure Award which was awarded to the band with the most quantity and quality of publicity, winning them a HT Stage 100 Full Stack…not bad eh!?

Since their big moment, the boys have gone from strength to strength having been interviewed for a podcast by the Guardian’s Scott Cawley as well as playing Cornish music festival ALstock alongside some brilliant local bands including country legends The Wurzels no less! Take a look!

The way things are going, these guys are set to make waves in the music world so stay tuned!

Yes this year sees the pretty impressive 30th anniversary of the heavy metal giants Metallica!

For any band to reach such a milestone is pretty impressive but these guys have risen to become the biggest heavy metal band in the world and are continuing to rock fans across the globe. Not bad eh!

Metallica will be celebrating their 30 years in style by offering their fan club members four exclusive gigs tickets costing just a bargainous $6 each (just like the old days eh!)

According to a recent post on the band’s website, the birthday bash will be taking place this December (on the 5th 7th 9th and 10th) to be exact over in San Francisco. Bit of a way away for us UK fans but we reckon it would be well worth a trip!

For anyone who can’t justify the flight though, we would recommend celebrating in your own way by using it as an excuse to play their music WAY to loud (sorry neighbours!) whilst rocking some of our very own Metalica t-shirts of course! Almost as good right?

What a tour it’s been! Kicking off just over a year ago, these guys have rocked nations and really racked up the miles venturing to distant lands including USA, Brazil, Japan, Australia and well…pretty much the whole of Europe!

At just the eager age of 13, this up and coming four piece from Tavistock in Devon have truly burst with guns blazing into the music scene. Don’t just take our word for it, these guys are set to play in the Live and Unsigned national final at London’s O2 arena Indigo2 club after beating a massive 10,000 acts to earn their place in this amazing competition.  This fantastic event will be held during Live Fest which is the biggest indoor festival in the UK you know!

Playing to an impressive 8,000 festival goers alongside some of the biggest names around including, The Hoosiers, Tinchy Stryder and Funeral for a Friend, these fresh-faced rockers will be put to the test and show their stuff in a bid to once again impress the expert judges and battle for the Live and Unsigned crown.
This amazing title could bring these guys a great record deal as well as the chance to play in some of the best live festivals around the world. Not bad eh!

Playing a mix of some classic rock songs, their own creations and more modern tunes, these boys really impressed the judges with their originality and style.

With such young talent breaking the scene, here at Amplified we were more than happy to hook the guys up with some of their favourite Amplified designs to help them show the love for the greats while on stage doing their thing.
