The photo shoot was done by Mario Testino, probably the most famous fashion and celebrity photographer. Gaga, a native of the big apple, is on the cover for the magazines New York Issue. Understandably the editor is overwhelmingly pleased with the results enthusing that ”Just as the Statue of Liberty was France’s gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York’s greatest gift to pop culture and fashion”.

The BBC has reported that filming has begun for a film inspired by a real life hoax that took place in 2004 in order to expose ageism in the music industry. Around six years ago Alarm front man Mike Peters penned and released a comeback single which was then performed/mimed by a more youthful The Poppy Fields – a band that formed only as part of the hoax. The single made the top 30. Lily Allens dad Keith Allen and ex-Eastenders geezer Phil Daniel will star in Vinyl which is based on these events.
