Kasabian give ‘send off party’ headline set at V Festival

Kasabian closed last nights V Festival at Chelmsford with what will be their last performance before they go into hibernation to produce their fourth album. The band told NME that as the show was their last before recording it acted as a send off party for their current release West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Their set was the same as the previous headline slot the night before at the Highlands Park site.

Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood to release brand new studio album in September

Eagle Records have just announced that Ronnie Wood has signed a deal with them for the release of a brand new studio album Feel Like Playing which will be released on the 27th of September. The album features twelve new tracks including collaborations with other renowned artists like Slash and Flea. In recent years Wood has exhibited some of his paintings and both the album cover and the album title were inspired by some of Wood’s recent artworks.

Blondie announce new album ‘Panic of Girls’ for UK release in 2011

Blondie drummer Clem Burke recently told billboard.biz that the band has recorded tracks for a new album Panic of Girls which they plan to bring out in the UK and America in 2011. It will be the first release from the band since their 2003 album The Curse of Blondie and by comparison has a lot less production on it. Burke told Billboard that the band ‘tried to make the recording process as organic as possible and tried to stay away from programming as much as we could, because [The Curse of Blondie] had a lot of programming on it’. This year see’s the band celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1980 platinum record Autoamerican.

Kasabian guarantee V Festival punters the night of their year with ‘rave’ headline slot

As part of an exclusive interview on gigwise.com Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorio promises that the bands performances at this coming weekends V Festival will be one of the best nights out punters have had all year. The band play Weston Park in Staffordshire on Saturday and Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Sunday and ‘want to give people something to celebrate’. As part of their warm up they are playing a gig at Brixton Academy tomorrow evening (Aug 19th)

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones film to be screened worldwide

The 1972 film Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones is to be screened at cinemas worldwide this September. It was filmed whilst the band were on their Exile in Main Street tour of 1972 and was filmed when they played one night in Texas. Check out the The Rolling Stones website for worldwide dates but for now you can catch it in the UK on 16th and 21st of September at Vue and Picturehouse cinemas. The film has not been screen since the late nineties as there has been dispute over ownership. It includes an exclusive interview with Mick Jagger.
